Our Mission
Vinalhaven Land Trust promotes the conservation of our island's significant plant and wildlife habitat, our water resources, and scenic or historic spaces in order to preserve the traditional character of the community for generations to come.
To fulfill our mission, we work to:
- increase appropriate land protection
- establish responsible long-term stewardship plans
- expand our educational programs
- strengthen partnerships with the town, landowners and other conservation organizations
- ensure the effectiveness of VLT as a premier conservation organization
