Sawwhet Owl

Summer Series of Bird Walks

Hermit Thrush nest

Kirk Gentalen is leading bird walks most Wednesday mornings. You may not get close enough to see a hermit thrush nest like this one, but you can be sure Kirk will help you to see and hear Vinalhaven's finest. Please meet at Skoog Park for carpooling at 8:30; destination to be determined by Kirk.

Annual Meeting

Celebrate: Vinalhaven Land Trust turns 25!

The annual meeting of the VLT membership will be on Friday afternoon, July 29th at 4:00 PM. Come to Skoog Park and hear about recent progress and future plans, to elect new members to the board of directors, and to share your observations and ideas with the board, as well as with each other.

Tim GliddenOur guest speaker this year will be Tim Glidden, for the past ten years the director of the Land for Maine’s Future program and now the new President of Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Tim is uniquely qualified to outline for us the emerging conservation landscape through which our work over the next 25 years will carry us.

This year we have something special to celebrate: in June, Vinalhaven Land Trust turned 25. After 25 years, there are accomplishments to celebrate, heroes to honor, and new challenges to plan for.

After the meeting, please stay a bit and continue to catch up with friends, old and new, and partake of a bit of our birthday cake.
